PiCME will be present at the next international ECPR conference – from 6 to 9 September 2017 in Oslo – with a whole section entitled Political Sciences and the Big Data Challenge. From Big Data in Politics to the Politics of Big Data and co-organized with our colleague Elena Pavan and her Makers research project. In such a framework, Elena Pavan and Alice Mattoni will also present a paper that contextualizes the study of big data in the literature devoted to media and social movements. Finally, Diego Ceccobelli and Alice Mattoni will present a paper in the section Drawing Boundaries in Southern Europe. The paper will present a preliminary comparison between the media systems in Greece, Italy and Spain, taking into account the recent transformations brought forward by the diffusion of ICTs.
